Support For Our Foster Parents

GCAC of Georgia  works as a team with our foster parents and we stand beside them every step of the way through the foster care experience. We value our foster parents and partner with them in an effort to provide them with the skills and tools they need to be successful foster families. GCAC of Georgia offers the following services to help our parents succeed as professional foster parents:

  • A dedicated staff of professionals to offer support and encouragement.
  • 24 hour accessibility to our GCAC of Georgia staff.
  • Networking, support and training through bi-monthly Parent Support Groups; childcare provided.
  • Free ongoing training in child development, discipline and attachment.
  • 5 paid respite days.
  • Frequent contact in your home to discuss your foster child's needs.
  • Inclusion in the family team meetings to ensure a child's needs are accurately assessed, planned for and met.
  • Careful matching of caring families with children who need special attention.
  • Recognition of every child's birthday and milestones .
  • We offer "Parent's Days Off," which can include activities such as taking the children out for a day at the park, a trip tubing down the river, an outing to a baseball game, and numerous other activities. These days provide great fun and fellowship for the children while giving the foster parents a day off. Both biological and foster children are included in these activities.
